Friday Fix: the latest house, techno, and chillwave to kick off the weekend
To launch you into the weekend, we’ve got 5 new electronic tracks that we’ve had on heavy rotation over the past week here at TNLF HQ.
The Naked and Famous – Young Blood (Dance Yourself Clean Remix)
We’ll start you off with this blast from the past. This Dance Yourself Clean’s unofficial remix of a naughties indie pop classic: “Young Blood” by The Naked and Famous. I think “Young Blood” was one of the first tracks we ever posted on the blog back in 2010!
Originally from Auckland, The Naked and Famous made their full-length debut with Passive Me • Aggressive You—a 2010 release featuring that hit: “Young Blood.” That song was everywhere in New York during the height of the indie electronic explosion. As a five-piece band, The Naked and Famous toured across the globe playing sold out shows and festivals. They finally landed in L.A., living together in Laurel Canyon.
This Dance Yourself Clean remix perfectly preserves the vibe of the original anthem, but brings something new to the party. Love how they’ve updated the track for dance floors of today.
Elledance – What I Am
Next up is a new single from Jackson Shimanoff (aka Elledance). Originally born and raised in Kailua, Hawaii, Jackson is now based out of Los Angeles where he has quickly established himself in the club scenes of Santa Monica and Hollywood. His sets are known for their fresh, high-fidelity productions and seamless execution. And that’s exactly what he delivers on his new single, “What I Am.”

David Hasert & Moses Mehdi – The Scriptz
German DJ and live act David Hasert (pictured above) is the founder of LIKE records and a key figure in the electronic music scene of Cologne. He is also the face of Reineke Fuchs and responsible for the high quality bookings and the club’s unique success.
This month he’s teamed up with Moses Mehdi to release this excellent low-key cut entitled “The Scriptz.” It’s a vibe.
MarMar – Sobers Me
Speaking of vibes, this new track from American / French producer, MarMar, has got a great summery slant to it. Check out “Sobers Me” below and keep the laid-back mood rolling.
Zbeeez x Vesa Beats – For Us
Last but not least, we’ve got some sweet new samba-infused house for you. Zach Berns (aka zbeeez) reams up with New York beatmaker, Vesta Beats, for their new single “For Us.” It’s hard not to get into the groove the guys are laying down here.
