The Blaze release live album recorded at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall
More than 8 years ago we were introduced to the heartfelt style of electronic music that cousins Guillaume and Jonathan Alric produce with the release of their video for “Territory.” Performing as The Blaze, the French duo cultivated a sound that was both penetrating and cinematic. The music without the visuals seemed to tell a narrative. The visuals without the music — something else. The music and the visuals added up to more than the sum of their parts and create a tension. For The Blaze, these two notions are inextricable interdependent — they make electronic music that is inseparable from the visuals.
This month The Blaze have announced a new 18-track live album recorded at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall. The album is called FOLK and it is a moving tribute to collective emotion and human connection. Like their previous albums, FOLK is titled not just in reference to a musical genre, but in allegiance to an entire sensory world.
