Hurts mentioned after Sunday’s win against the Raiders that he can handle criticism because he’s dealt with it for most of his career. Wright responded by saying that criticism is fair.
“Yes, Jalen you are correct. No one has forgotten where you have came from, but that’s a knife that cuts in both directions,” Wright said this week on FS1’s First Things First. “Everyone remembers what a great leader, a great man who have been, a great teammate. They also remember why you had to leave Alabama and what happened.
“And the fact that the questions surrounding your ability to be a consistent, all-over-the-field passer has followed you at multiple levels of football. Which is when we say the Eagles’ issues, that’s one of the leading candidates this year is the tumult in the passing game.” …
Hurts played poorly for the past month, contributing to three straight losses to the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Chargers. He turned the ball over a career-high five times against the Chargers in Week 14, one of the lowest points of his career.
