Lars Fiil teams up with Lord Akton to remix “Epilogue” with dreamy beats and ethereal melodies
Towards the end of last year, we featured Danish pianist and composter, Lars Fiil, for his beautiful album, New Ground. For most of Fiil’s career he’s released albums under his own name. However, in 2023 took up a collaboration with oud-player, Bilal Irshed, to add nordic jazz harmonies and middle-eastern flavors to their album, Connections.
The following year, the collaborations continued on Fiil’s 2024 album, New Ground, where he teamed up with Nicolai Kaas Claesson, SloGlo, Carolyn Goodwin, and Jakob Sørensen. This year Lars enlists the help of Danish producer and composer, Lord Akton, to remix one of the tracks off that album (“Epilogue”). The result is a lowkey tapestry of dreamy beats and ethereal melodies.
