LA-based duo, L’ESPIRAL, release a new music video for their 90s-infused, bluesy, psychedelic single
LA-based Zoë Bleu and Reggie Debris came together in 2024 to form the new duo called L’ESPIRAL. For me, their music is a mixture of psychedelic rock that falls somewhere between the 60s and the 90s. The Rolling Stones meets Primal Scream. It’s dripping of confidently shambling piano riffs, swaggering vocals, and pleasantly loose arrangement. It’s rock at its best.
For their latest single, “Mr. Babylon,” the band deliver a incredibly catchy new tune which includes gospel harmonies and bluesy keys. The song is the second release taken from their forthcoming debut album “SQUAWK!, cried Love,” which is set to be released later this year.
Front woman Zoë Bleu talks about the new sigle, saying “Mr. Babylon is about a woman mourning lost love and finding that, beyond the death of a relationship, her memories live on in the dream worlds she has built inside herself. The song reflects that, even in love’s afterlife, life continues to bloom in silent and unexpected ways.”
Stream the new single below, or check out the video for “Mr Babylon” above. The video was shot with by Lilian Sumner and cinematographer Jason Renaud at the Paris nightclub Le Serpent et Plume.
