Here are the best highlights from the Jaguars’ Week 1 win over the Panthers.
The Jacksonville Jaguars opened the James Gladstone and Liam Coen era with a win, and a fairly convincing one, over the Carolina Panthers in Week 1.
In the passing game, Travis Hunter led the Jaguars in receptions with six, with Trevor Lawrence also spreading the ball around as eight different players had at least one target.
Anthony Campanile’s defense, meanwhile, would stifle Bryce Young and the Panthers’ passing game, holding him to just 18-of-35 passing for 154 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.
While the Jaguars ended up winning 26-10, it’s not as if this game was perfect either. The offense had a turnover and struggled to convert red zone opportunities into touchdowns. The Jaguars were also flagged 11 times–which is a lot.
However, more often than not, the Jaguars overcame those miscues. Although those mistakes certainly have to get cleaned up, the ability to not let the errors define the game is what good teams do.
«We’ve got to keep doing it,» Lawrence said of the team’s performance, via Jaguars.com. «Consistency is what will be the difference, and we have to continue to prepare and play well.»

We thought that there would be a committee approach at running back–and maybe there still will be–however, that wasn’t the case in Week 1. Etienne carried the ball 16 times to Tank Bigsby’s five. One of those Etienne runs went for 71 yards.
