The story of Luke Newman is pretty remarkable. Newman spent most of his college career with Holy Cross of the Football Championship Subdivision. Newman stuck it out in the Patriot League for years, despite being an All-American and three-time All-Patriot First Team player who could have probably left sooner, until he finally made his way to Michigan State for one season. Now, Newman, who was a sixth-round pick in the NFL draft, has officially secured a spot on the Chicago Bears‘ 53-man roster, surviving Tuesday’s cut day and making the team.
