Is Auburn still slated to host a regional despite dropping its final series at Ole Miss?
Auburn baseball may have dropped its final conference series at Ole Miss over the weekend, but it is still in a great spot to host a regional, according to the latest projections from D1Baseball ahead of this week’s SEC Tournament in Hoover.
Auburn grabbed the No. 6 seed in this week’s SEC Tournament, earning a first-round bye. They will meet the winner of the Texas A&M-Mississippi State contest on Wednesday at 8 p.m. CT at the Hoover Met. Auburn owns a series win over Mississippi State, which counts toward its quad-2 ranking as the Bulldogs begin the week at No. 30. Texas A&M, which Auburn did not meet in the regular season, is No. 55 in the RPI.
