The NFL’s addition of Christmas Day to its annual slate of games had many critics speculating that the Kansas City Chiefs would be involved, similar to the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys‘ residency on Thanksgiving. A report recently indicated the Chiefs’ interest in hosting a game annually, but those hopes might have been dismissed.
North mentioned not wanting to be married to a team for Christmas, especially if they cannot maintain high success long-term. The Chiefs were also not the only team to publicly desire Christmas or any other annual holiday.
We are weeks away from the official NFL schedule release, so anything is possible, but it appears that after two consecutive years of playing on Christmas, a new team could be in play.
