It seems nigh impossible the San Francisco 49ers would add to their list of offseason losses by trading away wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.
It’s unclear how far any communication got on an Aiyuk trade. However, it’s not a huge surprise some teams have called about trying to make a deal. They’d be trying to capitalize on a bargain trade while Aiyuk’s value is at its lowest.
From the 49ers’ angle it doesn’t make a ton of financial sense to deal Aiyuk. If they were to get an overwhelming offer for the injured WR, then perhaps they’d do it. But letting him go just to let him go was not on the table as a prudent team-building move.
These trade communications may not matter in the 2025 offseason, but they may at the trade deadline and next offseason if San Francisco ultimately decides to move off the former All-Pro.
