The UEFA Champions League, by far, is the most prestigious event Barcelona participate every season. With top clubs from across Europe participating, after all, the value naturally builds.
Along with the prestige, unsurprisingly, come massive monetary benefits, which only increase as teams progress deeper into the competition.

Last season, Hansi Flick’s side reached the semifinals of the event and were just minutes away from a place in the final.
Needless to say, they earned a significant paycheck for the same – the specifics of which will be presented in the UEFA Ordinary Congress early next month.
Fourth-highest earners
As relayed by Mundo Deportivo in a recent update, Barcelona were the fourth-highest earners in the UEFA Champions League last season and only the three other semifinalists earned bigger paychecks than them.
All in all, the Catalans took home a sum of €116,562,000 from the event last season, €436,000 less than Arsenal, who are in third place with a cheque of €116,998,000.

Inter Milan, the defeated finalists, stand in second place with cumulative earnings of €136,620,000 and PSG, the champions, took home the biggest sum of €144,415,000.
The report also elaborates on the specifics of how Barcelona’s payout was calculated and the bonuses at every stage of the way they earned.
Barcelona earned €18,620,000 for mere qualification to the league phase of the competition and were given an additional €33,855,000 from the value pillar assigned to the club by UEFA.
During the league phase of the competition, the Catalans added another €13,962,000 to their pockets and further gained €11,625,000 for their final ranking at the end of the league phase.

The knockout payouts constituted the rest of the payment, with qualification for the Round of 16 itself handing them €11,000,000. Qualifying for the quarterfinal added €12,500,000, and the semifinal another €15,000,000.
